living each day in union with Christ. These seven habits are not intended to be a measure of our piety or sincerity, nor do they have the merit to earn God’s favor. And yet, it is through these habits of Jesus, that Christ draws us into his redeeming presence. The goal of a Christian’s daily life is to be an apprentice of Jesus. The New Testament does not actually describe any other type of lifestyle apart from putting into practice the habits Jesus taught. What is it like to live our lives with God? He gives us the character of Christ, much the same way that fruit appears on a fruit tree (Gal 5:22). The daily lifestyle of Christians has been clearly laid out in the habits that Jesus passed on to his disciples. This means that there is a straightforward way to live each day with Christ and participate in his mission to the world. Through these seven habits of Jesus we begin to experience life, not in a me centered way which is our natural tendency, but in a Christ centered way.
